Google really knows how to make people feel old. I'm embarrassed to complain about this, but I have a really hard time distinguishing the white "new SMS" icon from the white "new email" icon.

Obviously when I had a blue Chomp icon, I didn't need to reach for reading glasses to read the notification bar. I saw the blue icon and went to Chomp and then had my customized interface with the nice large font I used in my template design.

Sometimes I think Google is a bunch of teenage boys who make decisions without asking anybody besides other teenage boys, and then they force sweeping changes onto everyone just because they can. Or they stubbornly reject suggestions from their customers that might actually make sense, like being able to select a column by which to sort and view your email. I guess all us old folks are just idiots.

Regardless, the white-only notification bar icons was a dumb mandate and really, I'm starting to think Google hates people over 40.
