Chomp used to honor the stock messaging app settings to remove old texts. It broke somewhere in the neighborhood of version 5.87. This is a MUCH needed feature that I personally have been asking for for 2+ years. Its also been in the top 3 of feature requests for at least as long. I hope the Dev team can get it done!

Once upon a time, not that long ago, before sd cards were standard, you were limited to 10 SMS and then texts stopped working or overwrote the oldest sms

I agree with some comments that it would be good to have the CHOICE to choose whether to automatically delete old texts

No way do I want my old messages deleted automatically. Can be deleted by the user.

How come this doesn't have automatic clean up, lately apps been running sluggish with all my texts and mms, its not good dont wana have to go to my stock messenger to clean up my texts or use another app

i purchased no ads feature but something is missing,..how come this app dont have auto delete of old mesages even to set up sms limit? pls fix this

Most texts apps have this function. Even the stock app on samsung phones. This is a must have to keep the app from getting a backlog of texts.

For me the best option is to let the user decide how many days back to keep and if the cleanup should be done automatically at a specified time or manually by the user

Please please please get this one happening. It's vital to keep the app running smoothly when we text a lot. The texts build up and overwhelm the app. Especially MMS with pics.

I think auto delete is a good option but MUST be one the user can turn on/off, and customise if possible.

I would love to have this feature bc it'll make conversation threads a lot less bulky.

This would be so much better than having to delete whole conversations.

Please allow me to set the limit of messages in a conversation, and delete all older ones.
