"Can't download MMS, check apn settings

This has been happening for several versions now at times. It don't say much of anything else. Why is this happening?

    keep getting Cant download MMS. this happened a few weeks ago!! I need the group messages ability

    This is happening for me as well. ChompSMS doesn't have an APN Settings anymore!!

    I've been getting the same message for 4 hours now. I reset my apn but the error continues.

    Why do I keep getting the message, "Can't download MMS" Check your APN settings... I can send & receive pictures. I get it for several days, then it usually stops for a few weeks, then starts again. It's been going on for months.

    My setup is to use mobile data to download MMS messages. Usually I have it off because the relevant messages are mostly spam. This results in getting the notification over and over, multiple times a day. I would like a way to disable this.

    Happening more and more often? No where does app or developer explain and can't find any APN to check or change?
