Oftentimes people type up a message but then get distracted or go to another app, and then forget to actually send the message. They check back days later and go "damn I forgot to hit send." It's happening more and more. A notice that would tell you, "hey you've had this msg typed up for over an hour (or day or whatever), did you forget to send it?" would be helpful.
