Add a mute feature to turn off notifications for a specific conversation or group chat.
I want to be able to select a convo and mute it so the texts are still received however I'm not notified. This would be a great feature to temporarily silence group chats which the user does not wish to actively take part in. preferably a simple press on the convo and a tap of a mute button.

C'mon folks they don't charge you a dime for this app. We really don't have a right to demand or expect them to do anything. Besides you can already mute any Convo you want
Just long press the Convo select notification the select mute. -

I can't believe this feature has been mentioned for years and they still don't have it. I just switched to Chomp from Color. I've been very happy with it, but I'm going to move on to Textra if Chomp doesn't get this feature.

I recently switched from Handcent to Chomp for the past few months. I've liked it. But this one issue is sending me back to Handcent. At least Handcent allows muting notifications. Shortly I'll be reminded of why I left Handcent, I've forgotten.

YES!!! Especially during the pandemic, I have been added to many more group chats and I had not even realized that you could not mute them until now. It's extremely annoying, as I work at night and everybody is spamming my phone during the day. I can't just mute notifications because my phone is my alarm too. I wouldn't mind sacrificing the ability to mute individual conversations in favor of being able to do it for group chats!

These group text that you are put in without knowing that you were added to is very annoying, if there is no way I can delete myself from it I will delete this app and go another text messaging app.

This feature request was submitted in 2014. If you're reading this, you need to realize that the developers really don't care. That's why they add clickjacking ads to the top, so you're forced into clicking it and giving them free money. This is illegal. Stop being stupid and switch.

Please add this into the app. I love ChompSMS and would hate to swtich to another one. The muting group messages function is a huge deal to many of us.

This needs to be implemented. I can't control what group chats I am added to and there's no way to leave one I don't want to be a part of. Muting the conversation is the only alternative.
