I've too been dealing with this but just found a solution.......instead of dragging the chomp icon from your apps to the home screen, add it to the home screen as a widget, works great now!!!

I just switch to Chomp...it's gtreat! However, I need for you to upgrade to where there is a a number on the message icon that let's you know that you know how many text messages you have waiting. I have missed some very important text messages all because there was no number on the message icon.

This is one of the biggest issues I have with any other messaging app I've tried. As someone who uses mute constantly, I need a visual notification. I find it incredibly helpful to glance at the home screen and see the red dot on the icon indicating someone texted. The notifications are tiny and get lost among the other zillion insignificant notifications battling for that same 5x25mm space up top, and while changing the color of the led is cool, it is difficult to determine the color in good lighting or outdoors. The lack of this feature alone has driven me back to the stock msg app multiple times. This was a six star app until I just found out the red circle didn't work, and then that it didn't exist. Must be added, I can hold out only so long. ;^)

No longer working. Please fix. Worked until last 2 updates.
